RHP supports new iPhone meningitis signs and symptoms app.

If there is one application you should download for your iPhone it is the world’s first meningitis signs and symptoms app.

Please read the following message from the Meningitis Trust:

Meningitis can strike within an instant and its impact lasts a lifetime. It’s a disease that has affected over 500,000 people in the UK today and one in four adults know of someone who has had meningitis.

We are not scaremongering, but it is essential that we raise awareness. We know that knowing the signs and symptoms of the disease and what you should do if you suspect it, CAN and DOES save lives. Meningitis can kill within four hours so fast action is essential.

Everyone is at risk of meningitis but the most vulnerable are the under 5s, 16 – 24 year olds and the over 55s. We know first-hand what impact the disease can have on a family and will do all we can to raise life saving awareness, especially when there are not vaccines for all types. Because this is so important, we have made sure the app is free and we are very grateful for funding support from Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline.
