RHP is passionate about providing a safe place to live for all our customers, and a safe place to work for all our employees.

The health and safety zone has been designed to provide you with useful information on the four key safety related topics that are relevant to you in your home. These are:

  • Legionella
  • Asbestos
  • Fire
  • Gas

In addition, there are links on these pages that you can click to find extra information. You can also access certain RHP safety policies and reports.

RHP health and safety team

We are a team of two full-time health and safety professionals supported by an apprentice administrator. We work with our colleagues and peers to deliver RHP’s health and safety objectives and to ensure we are doing all we need to in order to provide a safe and healthy environment for our customers and employees.

What RHP is doing

In order to remain compliant with health and safety legislation and in line with best practice, RHP has developed a robust health and safety management system.

We have looked at all our activities and have identified the areas where harm could occur. A wide range of control measures have been designed and implemented to reduce and manage the risk of injury or ill health. These include:

  • Annual services and safety checks on gas appliances
  • Fire risk assessments and upgrades to fire protection systems
  • Asbestos surveys
  • Water safety risk assessments
  • Estate inspections

We review our policies and procedures on a regular basis and we constantly measure our performance against specific health and safety targets. We report on health and safety at all levels and constantly look for ways to improve the way we work.

What you can do

As a customer of RHP you are expected to co-operate with us as necessary to allow us to comply with relevant legislation. For example, you are required to allow us access to your home to complete safety checks on your boiler (except for Homeowners), and you are required to apply to us for permission before making any alterations to your home.

Your sign-up pack should give you information on our health and safety requirements. If you have further questions that are not answered in this section please contact us on 0800 032 2433.

You can also help us to keep you safe by reporting unsafe conditions to us so that we can arrange for repairs. If you have an online account you can log a repair here. If you do not have an account, register here or call us on 0800 032 2433.
