Learning new things doesn’t just help you get better at your job: it also helps you get to where you want to go in the future. We caught up with some of our employees about their career journeys so far.
Chris, our Treasury & Development Accountant, says: “I joined RHP in 2014 as a Customer Service Advisor. After a couple of years, I was promoted to Financial Accountant. RHP is supporting me to study for a professional qualification and my knowledge grows every day. I’m a prime example of what can happen if you see an opportunity and seize it.”
John, our Cyclical Project Manager, says: ““I started at RHP in 2013 as a repairs scheduler. I wanted to take the opportunities that RHP offered to further my career and follow my ambition of becoming a project manager. I needed a surveying qualification - and with RHP’s help I enrolled into university to complete an HND in construction. My new role has helped me gain practical experience in project management and contributed to improved levels of customer satisfaction.”
Emily works for Co-op Homes – part of RHP Group – as a Finance Assistant. She says:
“I joined RHP in January 2016 as an apprentice in Co-op Homes. When I finished my apprenticeship, I decided getting a job in Co-op Homes would be great for my progression. I really liked my team and the RHP environment, so I wasn’t quite ready to move on.
I had to show my willingness to learn and work and show I was a very happy and friendly person who could contribute to the team. I now feel confident with things like writing letters and dealing with rents. I also learned how to deal with difficult customers. RHP and Co-op Homes offer many opportunities which can help you improve in your role - it would be silly not to take the chance!”
