How do I make an alteration to my home?
If you want to make improvements to your home, you'll need to tell us what you want to do and show us it's going to be done safely and legally.

What changes won’t be approved?
We won’t approve:
- applications to extend existing properties.
- requests for extending tenanted homes, including extensions, loft conversions, conservatories, lean-tos, porches, summer houses/cabins that could be used as accommodation
- work that extends a home beyond its existing floor area.
If you make changes to your home without our consent, you may be in breach of your tenancy or lease.
How much does it cost to make an alterations request?
We charge up to £175 plus VAT for an alterations request: this covers admin and surveyor’s costs.
The amount charged depends on the type of alteration. We won't charge extra for multiple bits of work included in the same request.

How do I make an alterations request?
To get started, please complete our application form and attach it to a contact form.
We can’t review your application until you’ve paid the fee and sent back your application form.
A decision can take up to 28 days. You should wait for us to get back to you before starting work on your home.
