RHP celebrates significant milestone in its commitment to tackling London’s housing shortage

We have marked a major milestone at our Wireless Factory development in south-west London by completing the first phase of construction.

The new residential block on a former underused office site is part of our wider development strategy to provide more safe, secure and affordable homes to Londoners.

The scheme in the London Borough of Hounslow will deliver 33 affordable homes, made up of 17 shared ownership and 16 London Living Rent properties. The mix of one, two and three-bedroom flats each come with private outdoor space, while the sustainable block also includes solar PV panels and individual Hot Water Air Source Heat Pumps.

We are working in partnership with Bilton & Johnson Building Co. Ltd and lead development partner Dunmoore Group on the project, which began construction in December 2024. The scheme has also received grant funding from the Greater London Authority (GLA).

Sarah Thomas, our Chief Executive, said: "With an average of one child in every London classroom experiencing homelessness, and many more Londoners being priced out of the city they call home, we're committed to playing our part in ending the capital's housing crisis. This development is a clear example of how we're transforming underused land into high-quality, affordable homes for local people. Designed with sustainability and modern living in mind, these homes will make a meaningful difference for the community. We're also proud to be working in partnership with the London Borough of Hounslow to help sustain essential local services and build on our strong track record of delivering affordable new homes in the borough."

Tomas Souto, Dunmoore's Managing Director, said: "We are proud to partner with RHP on this transformative project. Turning underutilised sites into high-quality, sustainable homes is exactly the type of development London needs, and we're thrilled to see the structure completed on programme, thanks to our contractor, professional team, and Hounslow Council."

Tom Bruce, Deputy Leader for Hounslow Council, said: "The topping out at the Wireless Factory is about delivery – delivering 33 new, genuinely affordable homes with Richmond Housing Partnership, benefits that local people can see and feel. This first phase proves the strength of partnership between the Council, RHP and the developer, and sets the pace for the wider Wireless Factory masterplan. We're turning plans into homes, jobs and a high-quality place – and we'll keep delivering for our communities."

Handover is expected to complete in May 2026.

Our purpose is providing safe, secure homes – opening the door to life opportunities. Over the past three years we have developed 213 new sustainable, accessible and affordable homes across south-west London.
