Helping you with bulky waste by supporting Mega Skip Days

Did you know you can get rid of bulky items for free during Mega Skip Days in Richmond borough? On selected Saturdays, large skips are placed in different locations for a few hours at a time. Items that can be reused are collected by the Richmond Furniture Scheme, who upcycle them and return them to the community.

Upcoming Mega Skip Days:

• 23 August – Hathrop Road, Hampton
• 6 September – Riverside Drive, Richmond

What you can bring

• You can bring up to six items per household, such as:
• Sofas, mattresses and other furniture
• Small electrical appliances
• Black bags (each bag counts as one item, just like a sofa or mattress)

What can’t be accepted

• Hazardous or sharp objects, including weapons
• Paint or chemicals
• Car batteries or flammable liquids
• Concrete, cement, rubble or hardcore
• Plasterboard or asbestos
• Engine oil or cooking oil

If you’re unsure about an item, just ask a member of the onsite team. Please be respectful when dropping off items – aggressive or abusive behaviour towards staff will not be tolerated.
