London based housing provider RHP Group has been recognised with an award for its commitment to workplace wellbeing.

For the second time, RHP was recognised with a Gold Award in Mind’s Workplace Wellbeing Index. The Gold Award, which is the highest status in the Index, means mental health policies and practices have been successfully embedded and RHP has demonstrated a long-term, in-depth commitment to the mental health of its employees.

Mind’s Workplace Wellbeing Index is a benchmark of best policy and practice, celebrating the good work employers are doing to promote and support positive mental health, and providing key recommendations on the specific areas where there is room to improve. This year, Mind surveyed almost 19,000 employees across the 55 employers participating in the Index.

RHP has been recognised for embedding a positive wellbeing culture through support and initiatives such as: investing in Mind Matters Champions (Mental Health First Aiders), making conversations about mental health the norm through their weekly ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’ discussions, a monthly wellbeing allowance that people can personalise to their own needs, online meditation sessions, and integrating wellbeing and mental health education throughout their learning and development programme.

Sarah Thomas, Chief Executive at RHP Group said:

“We’re proud to have maintained Gold status in this Index. It’s a reflection of the importance we place on providing a supportive workplace, where people feel comfortable talking about mental health and have a range of tools on offer that are easy to access when they need them. This not only enables our colleagues to thrive, but it also helps us understand our customers better so we can keep improving our service.”

Andrew Vale, Director of Commercial Income at Mind, said:

“We’re thrilled to celebrate organisations like RHP Group, who have demonstrated to their staff that they value and support their wellbeing as a priority. Good mental health is vitally important in the workplace. We spend a huge amount of time at work, and it can - and does - have an impact on our mental health. That’s why the commitment that RHP have made to their employees is really significant in ensuring people can get the mental health support they might need.

“Our Workplace Wellbeing Index continues to be the gold standard for mental health and wellbeing best practice in the workplace. This year’s Index took place against ongoing challenges, with political uncertainty at a high and legislative changes on the horizon. With this in mind, it’s important we continue to prioritise the mental health and wellbeing support we offer at work.”
