Home Choice
Home Choice is our choice-based lettings scheme, where we advertise rental homes to RHP tenants. You'll need an active application before you can express your interest in an advertised home and bid online.
The number of advertised properties is limited, and they're allocated according to people's needs. If your current home no longer meets your needs, a home swap is your best option.
HomeSwapper is free for RHP customers.

Mutual exchange: important information about your tenancy rights
When you move home through a mutual exchange (homeswap), you take on the tenancy type and conditions of the property you move into. This means your rights may change, especially if you currently have a different tenancy to the one you are moving to.
What this could mean for you
- Tenancy rights: You may lose some rights you currently have under a secure tenancy. Your new rights will be based on the new landlord’s tenancy agreement.
- Rent: The rent for the new property may be higher or lower, and rent increases may follow different rules.
- Service charges: These can vary between landlords. Some services may be charged separately, and charges may change over time.
- Right to Buy / Right to Acquire: You may lose the Right to Buy when moving to an assured tenancy. Not all homes qualify for the Right to Acquire, so this may also be lost.
Before you agree to an exchange
Please make sure you:
- Confirm the type of tenancy you will receive
- Check the rent amount and how it may increase
- Ask for a breakdown of service charges
- Check whether the property is eligible for Right to Buy or Right to Acquire
