Maintaining communal areas
What to expect from our caretaking and grounds maintenance services

Caretaking
Our Caretaking Team is out come rain or shine, to keep your communal areas and outside spaces safe, clean, and tidy. This includes sweeping leaves to keep pathways clear, smart, and hazard-free.
If your block has a caretaking service, the team does the following on a weekly basis:
- Cleans inside your block.
- Cleans external areas.
- Checks bin chutes/areas.
- Replaces communal light bulbs.
- Picks up litter.
- Checks areas are free from hazards and spillages.

Grounds maintenance
One of the ways we invest in your local neighbourhood is by looking after the green spaces around your home. Our grounds maintenance service is delivered by our partner, Accuro. Here is what you can expect from the service:
Grass, hedges & shrubs: We aim to cut the grass every 14 working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays). You can view the schedule here. Please note that this schedule excludes weekends and bank holidays. For hedges, we aim to prune and shape them three to four times a year, depending on the type of hedge. We also look after shrub beds every eight weeks by weeding and pruning them. To tackle stubborn weeds, we will occasionally use an environmentally-friendly weed spray.
Seasonal care & wildlife: Most of our heavy shrub cutting takes place mid-June through July/August, as long as it doesn't disrupt flowering plants. During the spring, we are always careful around flowering plants and nesting birds. This means we keep our work to a minimum during this time, unless overgrown plants are blocking entrances, exits, or pathways.
Improving your estates: One of our Estate Services Managers, John, has extensive experience in horticulture and has recently led planting projects across several of our estates.
