How is my rent charged?
Rent is charged in advance. Depending on the type of tenancy agreement you have with us, it will either be weekly on a Monday morning or monthly on the 1st of the month.
What is my new rent and service charge?
If your rent increased on 7 April, you can find a breakdown of your new rent and service in your Rent Increase letter. You can find a copy of this letter in your RHP online account. To view it, open the menu tab and select ‘My Account’.
When are my payments due?
Your payments are due in advance and dependent on your payment frequency. If you pay weekly, you need to be one week ahead. If you pay monthly, you need to be one month ahead. If we receive your rent directly from Universal Credit, you’ll still need to pay in advance. To make it easier you can make a payment plan with us to build up your advance payment.
How is monthly rent calculated?
Your weekly rent charge, multiplied by 52 (weeks of the year) divided by 12 (monthly payments) = £ the monthly amount due.
How can I pay my rent?
There are three ways to pay your rent:
- Direct Debit - this is the easiest and fastest way to pay as your payments will be paid to us automatically every month. You can set this up through your online RHP account or contact us directly on 0800 0322 433 with your bank details and preferred payment date.
- Online - you can make secure online card payments through your RHP online account.
- Standing Order & Bank Transfer - you can set up payments through your bank, you’ll need to contact us for our bank details. Please remember to always use your account reference as the payment reference so we can allocate your payments.

What do I do if I'm in rent arrears?
Please get in touch, the sooner the better. We need to know that you’re aware of your arrears and plan to get them down.
Many of our customers get their account back on track with one of our payment plans. We know you have other things to budget for, so give us a call to let us know you want to work on your arrears, and we’ll work with you to arrange something that’s manageable for you and us.
Contacting us means you’ll avoid any legal action we’d normally have to take. Not contacting us and letting the arrears increase puts you at risk of losing your home.
To pay your arrears in full, go to your RHP Online account or call 0800 0322 433.
