RHP continues to tackle London’s housing crisis with new affordable homes in Teddington

RHP has taken another step forward in addressing London’s housing crisis with the completion of its latest development, Poterill Court in Teddington. The scheme delivers six high-quality, affordable one-bedroom homes on a previously underused area of communal grassland in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Poterill Court showcases how small and overlooked sites can be transformed into sustainable, well-designed homes that meet local housing needs. All homes are available through London Living Rent, providing affordable options for people who are priced out of homeownership but wish to stay in their community. The sub-market rent makes saving to get on the property ladder more attainable.

RHP delivered the scheme in partnership with Matthew Allchurch Architects and Chartway Partnerships, with support from Greater London Authority (GLA) grant funding.

Sustainability has been central to the project’s design, with features including solar photovoltaic panels and individual hot water heat pumps in each apartment to reduce carbon emissions and energy costs.

RHP’s Chief Executive Sarah Thomas said: “Poterill Court is another example of how we’re contributing to the government’s house building targets and are committed to tackling London’s housing shortage. The completion of Poterill Court follows RHP’s recent progress across a number of developments. This includes completing the first phase of the Wireless Factory scheme in Hounslow, which will deliver 33 new homes, and their continued progress on their Ham Close regeneration project in Richmond, which will bring 452 new homes to the area.

Over the past three years, RHP has delivered 219 new sustainable, accessible and affordable homes across south-west London - with more in the pipeline over the next 12 months.
