Social Tenants Access to Information Requirements

Our responsibilities under STAIRs

Registered providers must make seven classes of information available under the Social Tenants Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs).

This publication scheme sets out available information and where it can be found, including:

  • the information we routinely publish.
  • how to find the information easily.
  • how to request information that has not been published.
  • any charges which may apply in providing requested information.
  • how to get in touch for any help accessing the information.

Published information

Review dates on our policies reflect the earliest date we plan to review them. The policy remains current and in effect until a new version is published, even if the review date has passed. Once a policy has been reviewed the website will be updated with the new version.

Publication Scheme ownership and maintenance

RHP’s Corporate Services Team is responsible for maintaining the Publication Scheme. The scheme will be reviewed annually to ensure all information remains accurate and relevant.

Accessible formats

RHP is committed to ensuring all customers can exercise their rights under this policy.  Information will be made available in alternative formats were reasonably required.  Reasonable adjustments will be provided in accordance with the Reasonable Adjustments Policy.

Charges

If complying with the request would reasonably exceed 18 hours of employee time/work across the organisation, we may refuse the request or charge a reasonable fee.

Exemptions

Requests may be refused or information withheld where there are specific, reasonable grounds. The burden of proof for applying for an exemption lies with RHP. We must balance the benefits of disclosure against the potential harm and explain any refusal clearly to the customer.

As a socially responsible housing provider, we are committed to providing access to relevant and useful information while respecting the data protection and privacy rights of individuals.

Where the publication or disclosure of personal information is required to meet a regulatory or legal requirements this information will be published.

Where the publication or disclosure of personal information is not required, appropriate, or lawful the information will not be disclosed. Where appropriate, personal information will be redacted before publication to protect the privacy of individuals. Redacted information may appear as a black rectangle covering personal data this is an indication that information has been withheld.
