Autumn action: contributing to your community

Published: 29/11/2023

Teams from across the business have had a productive autumn, working hard to contribute to the communities you live in.

This includes our caretaking team, who are out come rain or shine, to keep your communal areas and outside spaces safe, clean, and tidy. This includes sweeping leaves daily to keep pathways clear, smart, and hazard-free.

We’re committed to investing in your homes and are making good progress with our planned works programme. The photo above is from a recently completed roofing project in Richmond. These homes received new pitched tiled roofs and a loft insulation top-up, which will help keep them warm and dry, as well as reduce energy costs, for many years to come. Last financial year we spent £26.6m on improving and maintaining current homes, which included our kitchen, bathroom, and roof replacement programmes, as well as work to keep homes safe. This year we’re investing an extra £2m on top of that in major programmes to deal with dampness and mould, and energy efficiency.

We continue to build employment skills and opportunities at our Skills Academy based at Hounslow Heath. Our latest DIY course has just kicked off, and we have a host of other training opportunities coming soon including Childcare Level 2, Construction Multi Operative Level 1/ English as a Second Language. Any of our customers can sign up for free.

Last year RHP’s Skills Academy ran 11 different courses, supporting nearly 100 local people to gain vital employability skills. Nearly 50% of RHP customers who took part in one of these courses, went on to gain employment or further education directly as a result. Keep an eye on our website and social media feeds for more details on the courses we have planned for 2024, or register your interest by emailing [email protected].
