Our new repairs partners

Published: 27/01/2023

Before Christmas we wrote to all of our tenants to let you know about our new repairs partnership.

Our repairs and empty homes contract with Mears, and our gas and compliance contract with Robert Heath Heating are both due to expire in 2023.

We’ve therefore recently carried out a comprehensive procurement process to appoint two new contractors to deliver these services.

It was important that we heard your voice through this process, so a group of customers were involved at every stage, including assessing the final bids. We’d like to thank everyone who took part, as their input was extremely valuable.

We’re pleased to appoint two organisations with a strong track record of providing a high-quality, efficient and safe service:

  • Kier (repairs, empty homes, and planned works).
  • Smyth and Byford (three-star gas, gas, and electrical compliance).

We’re confident these new partnerships will make a positive difference to our service, responding quickly to keep your homes safe, warm, and comfortable. We’ll continue to take action to improve our repairs service between now and the start of the new contracts in June 2023, which may involve using different contractors where necessary.

For our core repairs service with Kier we’ll be forming what’s called a ‘Wholly Owned Subsidiary’ – a separate company (still under the RHP umbrella) that has its own name.

We would value hearing your views on the two options:

  • RHP Home
  • Fuse by RHP

If you have any thoughts on either of these names, please email: [email protected] by 5pm on Wednesday 1 February.
