RHP Chief Executive, David Done OBE, to step down next year

Published: 15/06/2022

RHP’s Chief Executive, David Done OBE, will be stepping down from his long-standing post it’s been announced. David established RHP in 2000, following a Large Scale Voluntary Transfer from the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, and has led it ever since. Since then, RHP’s performance, finances, and culture has been transformed, so that today it’s one of the highest regarded Registered Providers working in the UK, known for innovation, modernising the housing service using new technology, and being a great place to work.

This work has been recognised externally over the years with RHP gaining number one spot in the UK Great Place to work list, obtaining Investors in People Platinum status twice and winning numerous other accolades from organisations such as the UK Business Awards, the European Contact Centre and Customer Service awards and David himself being named as ‘Most people-focussed CEO’ at the HR Excellence awards.

RHP Chair Simon Devonshire OBE said: "I want to thank David for his remarkable endeavour and success in making RHP the amazing organisation that it is. It’s been a pleasure working with him. He’s been an exceptional Chief Executive and will be greatly missed by colleagues and the Group's Board alike. We wish him every success in the next phase of his career."

Commenting on his move, David said: “It has been a privilege to lead RHP, and I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved thanks to the hard work, commitment, and support of so many talented people. But after 22 years, I now feel it’s the right time for me to take on new challenges and opportunities – and am excited by what lies ahead. My plan is to help like-minded organisations and people grow and succeed both as a non-executive and advisor. I’m confident to be leaving the Group in great shape and in capable hands with a strong Executive Team and Board. I'd like to say thank you to everyone who has contributed to the success of the Group."

RHP will now start the search for a new Chief Executive to take over from David before he leaves and to take the Group forward. It’s an exciting time for someone to join the organisation as we’re about to embark on a new five-year strategy, which will see them build 750 new homes, move forward with our landmark regeneration scheme in Ham.
