South-West London housing provider RHP, has launched the seventh year of its Winter Warmers campaign, which aims to keep older customers (who live independently) safe and connected during the winter months.
During December all customers over 80 will receive a directory which signposts to various local support services, and those over 90 will also receive some winter gifts including a blanket and festive biscuits.
All of these customers will also receive a phone call at some point during the winter from one of RHP’s housing team to check on their wellbeing and to offer any support that might be needed.
In addition, RHP has joined forces with their gas and compliance partner Smith & Byford to carry out MOTs on the homes of customers over 90, to check that boilers and heating systems are working correctly.
The campaign has been sponsored by Devonshires Law Firm, as well as Smith & Byford, who both match funded RHP’s contribution.

With Age UK’s most recent research estimating that 52% of older people (8.5 million) are concerned or very concerned about winter, RHP and their partners believe this is an essential campaign.
